With their fifth studio album due out for the first time on a major label, Capitol, Arcade Fire continue their trajectory to becoming the most iconic rock band of a generation. The group recently announced the July 28th release of Everything Now along with a video for the title track. Today the band released the second new track and video, “Creature Comfort,” from that forthcoming album. Musically, the song looks to synths and dance-oriented rhythms with similarity to the band’s recent work. Lyrically, the song remains socially critical, fearlessly addressing heavy concerns, as Arcade Fire has done since the band’s first album. The video features a static wide shot of a room illuminated by pulsing strobe lights as the band performs while a marquee ticker of lyrics scroll above and below. It’s a testament to the group’s outstanding live energy, which North America will have a chance to see as Arcade Fire heads out on the Infinite Content Tour this fall, including a stop in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center on September 27th. Each ticket comes with a physical copy of the new album and are available here. Watch “Creature Comfort” below.
