Show Preview: Built to Spill and Genders Play Stubb’s Saturday November 23rd

You’d have to be completely out of touch with alternative music to not know indie-rock legends Built to Spill. Doug Martsch and his band seem to be increasingly active these days, and their live set still delivers all of the distorted pop anthems you love. But there’s another reason that you should plan to attend the band’s show at Stubb’s on Saturday night: opening band Genders. I saw Genders play at a tiny festival in upstate Washington this past summer and can attest to their incredibleness. The band creates dark, noisy indie rock that builds through moaning swells of distortion. GET TICKETS NOW and show up early for this show! Below you can hear the newest song from Genders and see Built to Spill perform “Goin’ Against Your Mind” at a live show in Sydney from 2008.
