St. Vincent is firing on all fronts. The production for her new song “Digital Witness” is astonishing–captivating pans and layers of instrumentation. The influence of David Byrne is obvious in the song’s disjointed, fun bounciness and quirky melodies, not to mention the subtle observational cultural criticism of the inescapable facets of modern culture–in this case, our televisions. This week, St. Vincent shared the artistically rich, simultaneously sterile and vibrant, new video for “Digital Witness,” directed by Chino Moya. St. Vincent’s self-titled album is out February 25th.
