Swans is one of those bands that is still quietly under-appreciated while having a still fruitful second life. The band took a hiatus while central creative force Michael Gira wrote and performed music as Angels of Light. Now, the band is back with all their glorious roaring noise. Tonight’s bill at the Mohawk will showcase amazing, although somewhat difficult and challenging, performances of powerful experimental and rock music. And if you’re already a fan, you’ve likely got a ticket. However, if you don’t, here are a couple extra tidbits you might not know: 1) Swans drummer Thor Harris is an Austin resident and amazing human being, not to mention one of the best drummers making music today; 2) Swans new record featured a number of amazing guests including Annie Clark of St. Vincent, also a Texas native. You should be at the Mohawk tonight, and tickets are still available. How is this not sold out? Get them now! See you there! Music from Swans and Xiu Xiu below.
