In case you missed our review, we are into Sylvan Esso’s debut record, which dropped earlier this year. We were also pretty enamored with the duo’s FPSF performance earlier in the summer. The pair employ buzzing, minimalist beats and synths provided by Nick Sanborn in tandem with Amelia Meath’s warm, soulful vocals. Their collection of songs gets even better with repeat listens as subtle vocal shifts and melodic nuances become more clear. Even with such strong songs, the inevitable dance party that is their live show may be the best part about the band. Below you can stream the band’s single, “Coffee.” Get tickets for their Sunday night show at Emo’s right here.
