Attendance Records Hosts Holiday Party, Plans Membership Program Launch

Chipper_Jones_120414-3Last weekend at the Mohawk, non-profit educational program Attendance Records, which works in schools to teach students about the music industry, held their annual holiday party. The night featured a photo booth stocked with a real-life Santa as well as performances by outstanding Austin bands The Loblolly Boy, El Campo, Chipper Jones, and Flavor Raid. The festivities served to cap off a successful year for the growing non-profit that continues to reach more students. They do great work, and soon you’ll have increased opportunity to support them directly.

The_Loblolly_Boy_120414-8This Saturday, the organization will host an event at Studium on East 5th Street to launch their new membership program. Membership will be open to the public and available at a range of donation levels beginning at just $10/month. Donations will go toward scholarships to attend summer camp sessions and pay costs for in-class teachers. These donations include perks for joining members, such as t-shirts, invitations to Attendance Records events, and digital downloads of music created by the program. Membership enrollment begins Saturday on the organization’s website and will be open at their event on Saturday.

Chipper_Jones_120414-1An elementary school group of young songwriters and two teen bands, Tiny Bees and Charlie Belle, will perform at Saturday’s event, which will also feature a create-your-own album workshop for students under 13 years old, gift wrapping activities, and complementary snacks. The event runs from 10AM to 7PM. More info here. Make plans to attend on Saturday, and check out photos from the holiday party below.
