Boone Graham Promises to “Never Give Up”

Youre-Here-2014-7Those familiar with Austin songwriter Boone Graham know him for earnest and quirky acoustic pop songs akin to Kimya Dawson or Paul Baribeau. Both musically and lyrically, Graham’s songs evoke universal connectedness through simplicity and sincerity. After recently writing a new song, Graham had a daydream of inviting every guitar player he knew to come participate in recording a version of the song. Musicians Lindsey Verrill, Adam Torres, Caitlin Kraus-Torres, Christian Hyun, Anna Larson, Braden DeLoney, and Jen Rose all answered the call and recorded one afternoon while snacking on cookies, veggies, and hummus. The no frills, lo-fi audio and video are a testament to the song’s message, as Graham promises to “Never Give Up” on us. As the final chord rings out, the background murmurs of the other players becomes more audible, as they all intone quirky variations of the message on loop. Watch the video below, and catch Boone Graham playing with his band Boonesboro (featuring Lindsey Verrill, Marcus Rubio, and Anna Larson) on January 16th at Radio Coffee and Beer.
