To coincide with the release of their newest full-length, In Cold Blood, out now on K Records, Chain and the Gang have released a video for the song “Certain Kinds of Trash.” In true DIY/K Records form, the video is a lo-fi affair with simple shots and awkward humor. As Ian Svenonius sputters cool, even, talky vocal lines as Katie Alice Greer harmonizes with a punchy melody hook that makes good use of minor notes. In the video, trash acts somewhat like trout and watermelon sugar do in author Richard Brautigan’s novels bearing respective similar names, as pieces of litter take the form of just about everything: a dog, eggs, and creamer for coffee. Check out the quirky endeavor above.
