Video: Extended Trailer for Dirty Projectors’ Film

It seems that each new day brings a new story about indie-rock’s industrious Dirty Projectors. We previously reported about frontman Dave Longstreth’s upcoming film, “Hi Custodian,” which will act as an extension of the band’s new album Swing Lo Magellan. Now, we’ve been given an extended trailer, which offers a first glimpse at the more narrative aspects of the project. While the previous, short trailer featured only a single, highly-stylized shot, this trailer features guys in biohazard suits, a throng of apparently religious pilgrims, and an elderly woman walking the street with a grown man in only his underwear. Not sure who’s escorting who on that last one. All of this occurs to the band’s melodic, harmonic songs. While an exact release date for Hi Custodian is unclear, we’ve got our fingers crossed that it will be the same as the album, July 10th.
