Alternating shots depict either a disheveled John Cale or a red scarf draped dancer sprawled across a checkerboard floor. In both scenes, each performs their own strange trance-like dance. After a bizarre rotating statue and a shot of Cale playing piano, the two dancers eventually share a few shots before Cale has a strange transformation at the video’s end. The odd imagery works well with the discordant pop of the “Face to the Sky.” Directed by Tom Scholefeild, the video has a David Lynch feel. As previously reported, Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood is Cale’s new album, out on Domino on October 2. Watch above.
