Show Preview: Mount Eerie at The Parish

Pop Press International has likely brought you as much Mount Eerie coverage as any other music blog over the past few months. We interviewed creative force Phil Elverum… twice, brought you an article about Elverum’s festival project Anacortes Unknown, and reviewed both installments of his diptych albums Clear Moon and Ocean Roar, the latter of which came out today.

Now, we couldn’t be happier to preview the band’s show at the Parish on September 27th. When we saw them in Anacortes, the five-piece band performed an expansive and cohesive set of mostly new material. On many trips to Austin, Elverum has been known to play solo or with a minimal backing band, perhaps because of the distance from home. For this show, Elverum will have all five members of his current band along for the ride. We strongly suggest seeing the show. Get tickets here.
