Cave Singers Announce New Album, Share “Have to Pretend”

The Cave Singers have announced that they will release their new full-length, Naomi, on March 5 via Jagjaguwar. Members Pete Quirk, Derek Fudesco (Pretty Girls Make Graves, Murder City Devils), and Marty Lund (Cobra High) have added Morgan Henderson (Blood Brothers, Fleet Foxes) to the lineup, and the album was produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, Shins, Modest Mouse). Along with this announcements comes an initial glimpse at what the record will hold. “Have to Pretend” utilizes sparse and straightforward instrumentation and backround oohs built around singer Pete Quirk’s sharp growl. The track possesses qualities of both the folk rock and early punk that has come out of the band’s native Northwest as well as a 70s-infused vibe along the lines of early T-Rex. “Have to Pretend” is a great track, and we can’t wait to hear more from the band as the release date for the album approaches. The full tracklisting for the album follows the stream of “Have to Pretend” below.
