In 2011, US ex-pat and former NYC resident Annie Dressner self-released her debut album Strangers Who Knew Each Other’s Names. Now, the UK songstress has announced that the follow-up EP will be called East Twenties and will be released on April 8th. Dressner’s debut was filled with upbeat indie folk-pop that wavered between moods both bright and uplifting as well as slow and somber. With songs that incorporate crisp acoustics, background electric guitars, a touch of country, and sometimes saccharine lyricism , Dressner is like an aspiring Laura Marling built on the Softies with a lilt of Jenny Lewis.
