It’s no secret that we adore Phosphorescent here at Pop Press Intl. We gave their newest effort Muchacho a ‘Pop Press Picks’ status and wrote about two of their sets at SXSW. This week Phosphorescent released a video for album single “Song for Zula.” Consisting of a single, slow-motion shot that centers on a woman trying to break a binding chain with a rock, the video makes explicit the metaphorical analogy of emotional chains that occupies the song’s lyrics. Above, you can watch the video, which was directed by Phosphorescent’s primary songwriter Matthew Houck and Djuna Wahlrab.
