Video: Still Corners – “Berlin Lovers”

Still Corners’ new music video for album track Berlin Lovers focuses on a young couple at a roller-skating rink juxtaposes playfulness with darkness. The video opens with a shot of a leather jacket and a pretty tough walk before it cuts to reveal a young girl. Soon, a young boy shows up and the pair exchange awkward glances as they’re watched over by band members Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray, who work at the rental counter and food court, respectively. Maybe it’s just me, but with the dark synth line, I kept waiting for things to go wrong in the video. However, the couple enjoys a nice outing of rollerskating beneath the bright lights and disco ball. Oh, nostalgia. Still Corners’ Strange Pleasures is out May 7th via Sub Pop. Watch “Berlin Lovers” above.
