Chicago based dream rock band Pink Frost just released their debut album and this week have shared the first video from that collection of songs. The video for “The Difference” features a montage of superimposed images, primarily some leafy trees and the band performing their shimmering indie rock. Pink Frost is quick to claim My Bloody Valentine and like-minded shoegaze bands as inspirations, and aspects of the band’s sound support that concept. However, their dreamy, distorted rock and high, whispery vocals–even their city of origin (Chicago)–makes me think of Siamese Dream era Smashing Pumpkins. “The Difference” echoes songs such as “Cherub Rock,” and “Today,” and we think that’s a very good thing. Watch the video for “The Difference” above.
