Health take us on a brief trip to Creepsville in the short film “Tears.” The group collaborated with directors David Altobelli and Jeff Desom to tell the story of urban zombie-babies in a post-apocalyptic world, where children gnaw on rotten apple cores and feathery bird blood runs in the gutters. Spooky!

The more we see of George Lewis, Jr.’s (Twin Shadow) masterful and complete artistic vision surrounding the release of his outstanding new effort Confess, the deeper in love we fall. We previously brought you the video for single “Five Seconds,” and our review earlier this week indicated that we believe the album to be one of the best of the year so far. Now, we bring you the video for another album track, “Patient,” which features the same motorcycle rebel spirit that Lewis has been channeling recently. Don’t forget that you can win tickets to Twin Shadow’s show at the Mohawk in Austin on September 14th.

We previously reported about legend Bill Fay’s forthcoming album Life Is People on Dead Oceans. The video for his new song “Be At Peace With Yourself” contains imagery and cinematography as beautiful and uplifting as the lyrics, as Fay croons, “Keep a spring in your heel/ Keep clinging that hill/ And be at peace with yourself,” above a chorus of backup singers. This first glimpse of the album is an indicator that it will be as amazing as Fay ever was, and offers signs that he will certainly be making peace with himself with what may be a late-career magnum opus.

To coincide with the release of their newest full-length, In Cold Blood, out now on K Records, Chain and the Gang have released a video for the song “Certain Kinds of Trash.” In true DIY/K Records form, the video is a lo-fi affair with simple shots and awkward humor. As Ian Svenonius sputters cool, even, talky vocal lines as Katie Alice Greer harmonizes with a punchy melody hook that makes good use of minor notes. In the video, trash acts somewhat like trout and watermelon sugar do in author Richard Brautigan’s novels bearing respective similar names, as pieces of litter take the form of just about everything: a dog, eggs, and creamer for coffee. Check out the quirky endeavor above.

As previously reported, Swedish indie pop songwriter Jens Lekman will release I Know What Love Isn’t via Secretly Canadian on September 4th. Above is the video for the first single “Erica America.” It’s a simple production in which Lekman performs with band in a sparse, abandoned looking warehouse space. The song offers a laid back smooth arrangement with the strings and brass to which we have all become accustomed. We can’t wait for the album to drop. We also can’t wait for Lekman’s US tour, which was announced just this week.

The Bowerbirds’ new video for “Sweet Moment” for the track culled from their recent release The Clearing is full of them–sweet moments that is. Thematically, the video deals with the temporary nature of all things and portrays a young woman who is leaving, but reminisces about the moments of joy she has shared with the one she must leave. The directorial decision to leave her reason for departure vague strengthens the point of the video. Musically, the Bowerbirds’ somber croons and soothing acoustics are as sweet as the moments encapsulated in the video. Check it out.

The video for The Shins’ newest upbeat indie-pop track “No Way Down,” from their most recent effort Port of Morrow features the band performing the song in a cabin in the woods near Portland, Oregon. Though unspecified, the space might be taken as their recording or writing space. Though a more straightforward approach, the video is well shot and exhibits these creatures creating music in their habitat. Take a look, but don’t stand too close to the bars.

The song is accompanied by an equally trippy video. Stop-and-go synth notes open the song before it builds, eventually exploding for the chorus that flows into the dubbiest potion of the song. The musical pause before the chorus that lays bare the songs high range vocals is well executed. When you think the song is going back to the dub beat, the band instead introduces strings. Fans may be equally surprised and excited by the new Yeasayer, but what’s for sure is that a more full picture will be revealed when the band releases Fragrant World on August 20th.

The UK’s Slow Club has recruited countryman Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame to star in their newest video for the single, “Beginners,” from their album Paradise, out now. In the video, Radcliff wanders around a bar alone, mouthing the lyrics along with singers Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor. After becoming increasingly liberal with his drink intake throughout the video, dancing on tables, and punching a pole, Radcliffe passes out in the closing seconds. The song itself features thundering toms and wavering electric guitar notes.
